The co-founding guitarist and vocalist of the Canadian rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Tim Bachman, reportedly passed away on Friday due to complications from cancer.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Tim’s son, Ryder Bachman, expressed his gratitude for the support and kind words from his father’s followers during this difficult time.

Ryder also shared that he had received news of his father’s health complications on Wednesday and rushed to the hospital to spend some final moments with him.

Tim had cancer riddled throughout his brain, but was given treatment to keep him comfortable during his final days. In his final moments, Tim expressed his love for Ryder and encouraged him to keep sharing the music.

The famous musician’s death happened a few months after his brother, who was also a musician, passed away. Social media was flooded with tributes from fans and loved ones mourning the loss of the rock star.

Timothy Gregg Bachman (August 1, 1951 – April 28, 2023) was a famous Canadian singer and guitarist who gained popularity through his work with the rock bands Brave Belt and Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO).

Tim Bachman, along with his younger brother Robbie on drums, played guitar in a few bands in the Winnipeg area. But he eventually quit music because he thought the local scene had become boring.

Tim returned to music when his older brother Randy needed a second guitar for the Brave Belt group after Chad Allan left. Tim wrote or co-wrote several songs while he was with Brave Belt and BTO, including “Put It in a Song,” “Down and Out Man,” “Blown,” and “I Don’t Have To Hide.”

However, Tim left BTO in 1974, shortly after the release of their album Bachman-Turner Overdrive II. In 1984, Tim Bachman rejoined BTO, along with Randy Bachman, Fred Turner, and Garry Peterson, for a reunion album and tours. They even opened for Van Halen on a world tour. Tim also led touring versions of the band in 1987 and 1988.
