Mega Millions Jackpot Surges to Record $1.55 Billion

The Mega Millions lottery is set to reach an unprecedented jackpot of $1.55 billion in the upcoming drawing, surpassing its previous record of $1.537 billion in October 2018.

Friday night’s numbers, 11, 30, 45, 52, 56, and the gold Mega Ball 20, failed to yield a jackpot-winning ticket, propelling the prize to new heights.

Before Friday’s drawing, the jackpot had already reached an estimated $1.35 billion, making it the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot in history and the fourth-largest in U.S. lotto history, including Powerball jackpots.

Since its last win on April 18, the jackpot has been steadily climbing, making Friday’s drawing the 31st in the current series.

In the realm of U.S. lottery drawings, a $1.55 billion jackpot would trail behind only two others: a $1.586 billion Powerball in January 2016 and a massive $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot in November 2022.

In the past, four $1 billion Mega Million jackpots were awarded in 2018, 2021, 2022, and January 2023. The odds of winning the jackpot are staggering, standing at 1 in 302,575,350.

As the Mega Millions fever grips the nation, eager players eagerly anticipate the next drawing, hoping for a life-changing win.
