Connors emphasizes deceptive tactics involving well-known charitable names for personal gain, impersonation of officials or insurers, and fraudulent investment schemes. These scams exploit those seeking recovery services and support after the disaster.
Efforts continue to gather DNA samples from families to aid in identifying the deceased. Currently, 13 DNA profiles have been secured from those who lost their lives, and 41 DNA samples come from family members of the missing, according to official sources.
Addressing the dire circumstances, President Joe Biden affirmed his commitment to aiding the affected millions during an event in Milwaukee. The federal government stands resolute in its support during this challenging period.
