In a heartwarming gesture to mark her 15th anniversary in the entertainment industry, the renowned South Korean singer and actor IU has shown her immense generosity by donating a substantial sum of 300 million won (approximately US$226,159) to support marginalized individuals in need of medical and welfare services. This remarkable act of philanthropy has been officially confirmed by her management agency.
IU’s charitable contribution consists of three significant donations, each amounting to 100 million won, which have been distributed to three prominent organizations: Asan Medical Center, the Korea National Association of Child Welfare, and the Seoul Metropolitan Children’s Hospital. These details were provided by Edam Entertainment, IU’s agency.
The entire sum has been allocated under the name “IUaena,” creatively combining IU’s stage name with that of her devoted fanbase, Uaena.
