Melanie Chisholm is an English singer and songwriter and media personality who is popularly known to be ‘Sporty Spice’ from the “Spice Girls” group. She is also known by her stage name Mel C.
Mel C a Spice Girls singer was going to perform in Polland for New Year’s Eve. It was all set to happen. But the news is that Mel C cancels new year Gig in Poland based on some issue about a community that she supports.
Mel C statement on Instagram:
Mel C who was about to perform in Polland issued a statement saying “In light of some issues that have been brought to my attention, that do not align with the communities I support, I’m afraid I will no longer be able to perform in Poland as planned on New Year’s Eve,”. The ‘Never be the same again singer’ confirmed over Instagram. Mel C continued, “I hope to be back there very soon. Hope you’re all having a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for 2023.”
Community’s support to Mel C:
Even though the star hasn’t disclosed the reason for pulling out of the show and what the real issue was many including the LGBTQ+ community have been praising her assuming that the issue was related to the community.
Melanie C was also been awarded by British LGBT Awards in 2021 and was honored with the Celebrity Ally awards. Also, the show in which she was going to perform was to be put on Polland’s public broadcaster TVP which was recently engaged in the issue of fueling propaganda against the LGBTQ+ community which is supported by Chisholm.
Looking at all this the LGBTQ community has already tagged Mel C 48, ‘Hero’ for not being part of the show, and is praising her for the same. Even though we don’t know what the issue is and why she has removed herself from the show it seems that Mel C is going to win a lot of fans from the community and may help them protect their rights even in Polland in the future.
