Lainey Wilson Was The Big Winner At The 2023 CMA Awards

Lainey Wilson won five awards at the 2023 CMA Awards, tying the record set by Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, and Alan Jackson.

She won entertainer of the year, album of the year, female vocalist of the year, musical event of the year, and music video of the year.

Wilson's album "Bell Bottom Country" won album of the year, becoming only the fourth album to win that award without reaching the top five.

Luke Combs won single of the year for his remake of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car."

Chapman won song of the year for "Fast Car," becoming the first Black songwriter to win that award.

Jelly Roll won new artist of the year at the age of 38, becoming the second-oldest solo artist to win in that category.

Fiddler Jenee Fleenor won musician of the year for the fifth year in a row, extending her record-breaking streak.

Steel guitarist Paul Franklin lost in the musician of the year category for the 31st time.
