A 5-year-old boy from Northern California passed away in a tragic incident following an altercation with his twin brother. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing call just before 4 p.m. on a Wednesday, rushing to a residence in the quaint city of Scotts Valley, nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains, approximately 30 miles south of downtown San Jose.
Unfortunate Turn of Events
As per the official press release, the responding officers were informed that the 5-year-old twins were engaged in a dispute, described as typical sibling squabbles. However, the situation escalated when, at a certain point, one of the boys, in the heat of the moment, seized a small kitchen knife and tragically stabbed his twin.
Despite the immediate intervention of first responders and the efforts of hospital staff, the 5-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
