Electric car giant Tesla, led by Elon Musk, is facing a lawsuit from 25 California counties over accusations of mishandling hazardous materials. The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, alleges that Tesla violated state laws by improperly labeling and disposing of hazardous waste in landfills not equipped for such materials.

The counties claim Tesla breached unfair business and hazardous waste management regulations, potentially incurring fines of up to $70,000 per violation per day. This isn’t the first time Tesla has faced environmental concerns. They previously settled with the Environmental Protection Agency for violating the Clean Air Act at their Fremont plant and faced accusations of racial harassment at the same facility.
Neither Tesla nor Elon Musk have publicly responded to the lawsuit as of now.
