Reality TV star Kim Kardashian bought a necklace once owned by Princess Diana for almost $200,000. A delegate for the 42-year-old celebrity paid $197,453 for the large crystal and diamond jewellery piece at a Sotheby’s auction.

‘People’ has confirmed that the pendant was worn by the late royal, who died in 1997 at the age of 36 in a car accident. The jewel crucifix was sold in the final five minutes of Sotheby’s annual Royal & Noble auction once Kardashian’s member outcompetes three other bidders to try and grab the element “at extra than two times post estimate,” as reported by the press release.
“We are pleased that this pendant has found some new life in the possession of yet another world renowned name,” said Kristian Spofforth, Head of Jewellery at Sotheby’s.
