Kennesaw State University students had the extraordinary privilege of hosting one of the South’s most legendary rappers on their campus. Notably, they were also introduced to one of his beloved pet owls.
Big Boi, renowned as one-half of the iconic duo Outkast, made a surprise appearance during a KSU football game last Saturday. He was joined by Sleepy Brown, a member of Dungeon Family, to deliver a live rendition of one of their chart-topping hits.
However, an unexpected twist occurred when Big Boi’s pet owl decided to steal the spotlight, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. During their electrifying performance, the owl exhibited signs of excitement and made an attempt to take flight, only to be restrained by the tether secured to its handler’s wrist.
In a video, the scene unfolded with Big Boi taking the stage first, sparking a wave of excitement among the crowd. The bass reverberated, and flashing lights added to the spectacle, briefly startling the owl. Sleepy Brown soon joined Big Boi on stage to perform their song, while the rapper and an experienced owl handler worked together to regain control of the magnificent bird.

Eventually, the owl was carefully removed from its harness, allowing the performance to proceed as planned. Following the show, Big Boi took to social media to proudly introduce the owl to his grandson. Interestingly, the rapper is known to own four owls, each with a unique name: Tula, Simon, Whodini, and Hootie.
