Her siblings confirmed that she died by suicide after battling depression for several years. Born as Ferren Lee in Hong Kong, she later moved to the United States, where she attended middle and high school in San Francisco. Lee’s singing career took off after she secured first runner-up in a prominent singing competition organized by TVB in Hong Kong at the age of 19.
