CW Cancels Walker After Four Seasons

The CW crime drama “Walker” won’t be returning for a fifth season. The network announced the cancellation on Tuesday and thanked the cast and crew for their hard work over the past four seasons.

“Walker” starred Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, a Texas Ranger who returns home after a long undercover assignment. The show was a reimagining of the classic series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

Padalecki, a longtime CW star, took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the fans. He acknowledged the disappointment but emphasized the strong relationships built during the show’s run.

“Walker” also featured Ashley Reyes, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, and Molly Hagan. The series finale will air on June 26th.

This cancellation comes amidst a larger shift at The CW, which was recently acquired by Nexstar. The new ownership is reportedly focusing on reality shows and acquisitions, leading to the cancellation of many scripted series.

Padalecki previously starred in another long-running CW show, “Supernatural,” for 15 seasons.
