From Rejected Singer to Playoff Mentor, Anthony Ramos Returns to Help Team Reba

Following the footsteps of superstars like Jennifer Hudson who were rejected from singing competitions, Anthony Ramos, star of Broadway’s “Hamilton” and “In The Heights,” adds his own chapter to the story. This time, however, he’s not the contestant but a Playoff Mentor on season 25 of “The Voice.”

Ramos joined Team Reba, offering guidance and encouragement to the remaining artists. His enthusiasm was contagious, even serenading Reba with a bit of her sitcom’s theme song! But most importantly, he shared a surprising personal connection – he too auditioned for “The Voice” years ago.

From Hopeful Singer to Seasoned Mentor

Imagine waiting in the New York cold for hours, only to hear feedback like “work on your breathing” after singing a John Legend song (one of Ramos’ favorites!). While that moment crushed his dreams, Ramos reflects, “it’s been a journey.”

Now, with a Grammy Award under his belt, Ramos is back on “The Voice” stage, but this time to empower others. He actively helped refine the performances of all five Team Reba artists, offering not just technical advice but also a healthy dose of motivational support.

Team Reba Chooses Three for the Live Rounds

With Ramos’ guidance, Team Reba was well-prepared for the Playoffs. In the end, Reba had the tough decision of selecting just three singers to continue in the Live Rounds. Asher Havon, L. Rodgers, and Josh Sanders emerged victorious, ready to compete for America’s votes.
