During “Dancing with the Stars,” shoot, Gabby Windy got candid about why she and Schwer decided to go their separate ways just months after getting engaged.
According to the insider, “She thought they weren’t on the same page and weren’t aligned.”
Gabby had hoped they could give each other some distance and sort things out, but she eventually came to the conclusion they had no future.
The news that Gabby Windy and Erich Schwehr ends engagement broke after fans noticed Windey hadn’t been wearing her engagement ring during competing in the Disney+ series.
After Schwehr was first apprehensive to propose so early in their relationship, the two got engaged on the ABC reality series.
The reality TV stars soon encountered a number of challenges related to Schwehr’s prior personal life before the programme.
On September 8, he said on Instagram, “What I felt at the time was an expression of my love for Jimi Hendrix, was nothing but stupidity.”
“I was unaware of the negative effects my acts would have on the Black community and the people closest to me. I will always regret my insulting and destructive behavior.”
Only until his ex-girlfriend Amanda Kaylor made their text conversations between them public did Schwehr come under further public scrutiny. Before he went on “The Bachelorette,” he claimed in a letter that the programme was not “real” and that he was only appearing on television to find “something else he could do with his life.”
The New Jersey resident confessed to sending the messages in the “After the Final Rose” finale, which aired on September 20.
“I led this girl on and used the show as an excuse to not confront her about our relationship,” he said. “I didn’t see a future, but we were having fun, and it was easy to have fun instead of making the hard decision to tell her it wasn’t long-term.
“I think this is all a testament to me being the last person ever expected to be on this show. I came into this just hoping to make it past night one and see what happens. I’d watched one episode before I came on and was just figuring it out as I got there.”
