In a late Thursday X/Twitter post, the renowned singer, Jason Derulo, issued a passionate video response, vehemently denying the shocking allegations of sexual harassment lodged against him. Derulo made it clear that he stands firmly against all forms of harassment and offers unwavering support to individuals pursuing their dreams.
“I wouldn’t normally comment but these claims are completely false and hurtful. I stand against all forms of harassment and I remain supportive of anybody following their dreams. I’ve always strived to live my life in a positively impactful way, and that’s why I sit here before you deeply offended, by these defamatory claims. God bless,” Derulo passionately asserted.
According to legal documents, Emaza Gibson, an emerging artist, has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, intimidation, acts of violence, illegal retaliatory termination, and breach of contract against the “Talk Dirty” singer. The lawsuit names not only Derulo but also his manager, Frank Harris, along with Atlantic Recording Corporation, Future History, Inc., and Radio Corporation of America (RCA Records). Derulo is not only a co-founder but also a principal of Future and serves as a supervising agent at Atlantic. Future represents a collaborative venture between RCA, Derulo, and Harris.

Gibson was initially brought under Derulo’s record label with the promise of jumpstarting her music career and producing multiple albums together in November 2021. However, her relationship with Derulo allegedly took a dark turn, encompassing “threats of violence, unwarranted and unlawful sexual harassment, and pressure to consume alcohol and engage in sexual activities.” In her complaint, she documents numerous instances where Derulo purportedly made inappropriate remarks, exhibited aggressive and verbally hostile behavior, and came dangerously close to physical violence due to her tardiness at a studio session.
In response to the lawsuit, Ron Zambrano, Gibson’s attorney, issued a statement:
“Mr. Derulo’s behavior toward this young artist was despicable, and, unfortunately, another example of the music industry’s dark underbelly. He not only broke promises and breached contracts, but his threats of physical harm and unconscionable sexual advances toward this young woman who is just trying to break into the industry were outrageous and illegal.”
“Executives knew of Derulo’s behavior without a care. No one should have to suffer through such treatment by their employer, and in this case, by someone who preyed on the plaintiff’s vulnerabilities and desire to succeed, then just threw her away like garbage when he didn’t get his way.”
