Drummer and co-founder of the famous band Modest Mouse, Jeremiah Green is struggling with cancer. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on Christmas day. Several people including his mother, brother, and band members wrote about his health and recovery on social media.
Jeremiah born in Hawaii is the son of an Army man. He has a brother Adam, a half-sister Theresa and a step-sister in the family.
Jeremiah’s mother Carol wrote on Facebook about his health and shared the news with fans about the son’s diagnosis. She also asked her fans to send him healing vibes and support during these times. She wrote, “He’s [sic] so strong and so brave and hanging in there!”
After her Adam, brother of 45-year old Jeremiah updated on his health with Fox digital. “He played many shows with cancer but the doctor gave him the green light to play up to the last West Coast date. His goal is to be back on tour this spring in South America. He has about 4 weeks of Chemo and Radiation left” said Adam.
Modest Mouse History
Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1992. The first lead members of the band were singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, Jeremiah, and bassist Eric Judy. Their debut album released in 1996 was “This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about.”
Apart from the band members DJ Marco Collins also took to social media on Sunday to announce Green’s diagnosis. He said that Jeremiah has pulled out of the bands tour as he is going through the Chemo and radiation procedure to battle stage 4 cancer. He also posted photo of him playing the drum.
As much as this is disheartening news for all of the music fans, we all have to stay strong and support him during this time. Fans of the drummer have also sent love for him and are praying for his recovery.
