Country singer Kellie Pickler delivered a moving performance at a Patsy Cline tribute concert, marking her first time back on stage since her husband’s passing.
The emotional event, “Walkin’ After Midnight: The Music of Patsy Cline,” took place at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Monday. Pickler, visibly nervous, addressed the audience about her deep admiration for Cline, who greatly influenced her love for music.
While sharing the stage with other country stars like Sara Evans and Wynonna Judd, Pickler introduced a special song, “The Woman I Am,” which she co-wrote with her late husband, Kyle Jacobs, over ten years ago. She also shared a tender memory of their last date night at the Ryman.
Jacobs, a talented musician who wrote for artists like Garth Brooks and Kelly Clarkson, died by suicide in February 2023. Pickler expressed her belief that he was present with her during the performance.
This tribute marked Pickler’s return after a six-month hiatus following her husband’s passing. Earlier this year, she expressed her gratitude to loved ones and fans for their unwavering support during this difficult time.
