Kelsea Ballerini, an American country pop singer, and songwriter performed “Penthouse” and “Blindsided” which are from her recent surprise EP Rolling Up the Welcome Mat. She was in the episode of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. The episode also featured Travis Kelce as the host.
In August 2022, the singer split with the country-pop singer and songwriter Morgan Evans. She has been in the news for both releasing the new music and going public about their separation. They were together for nearly five years. Evans later released “Over for You”.
Ballerini performed Blindsided and tracked on a tune that referenced her recent split through her new tabloid drama on “Penthouse”. She performed Blindsided in a zebra-like black jumpsuit and stood in front of a flashing screen displaying a spooky silhouette then she changed to a stunning white dress while performing Penthouse in front of a matching white piano singing the lyrics, “We played the part five nights, but we were never there on the weekends, baby.”
Later Ballerini also expressed saying “Whom you marry is not whom you divorce,” she said. “As he’s putting out a song about being blindsided, he’s taking half the house that he didn’t pay for.”
In return, Evans decided to put out an entire docuseries about their relationship and split.
