Music icon Prince will be honored with a star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame. The announcement was made on June 24th, adding Prince to the roster of 2025 inductees. This recognition comes alongside the recent 40th-anniversary celebrations of his groundbreaking album “Purple Rain” in Minneapolis.
Prince’s selection for the Walk of Fame was particularly poignant as it came from fellow musician Jimmy Jam, a classmate from their Minneapolis junior high school days. This posthumous honor is especially significant as only one such selection is awarded annually.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony dates are yet to be confirmed, but recipients have a two-year window to schedule their celebration. Prince joins a prestigious class of 2025 inductees that includes figures from film, television, music, and more, such as Jane Fonda, Green Day, and David Beckham.
