Renowned rapper Nicki Minaj has once again adjusted the release date for her highly anticipated album, Pink Friday 2. Initially, she unveiled the title back in June, but she recently went live on Instagram to share the new release date, which is December 8th, coinciding with her 41st birthday.
In an emotional announcement, she expressed her excitement for the album, saying, “I am thrilled to announce that the new album date for this incredible body of work, which I am so proud of, is on a special day for me and the Barbz – it will be released on my birthday. This announcement followed a couple of previous postponements. Minaj had originally planned to release the record on October 20th but later pushed it to November 17th. While she didn’t provide specific reasons for the second delay, she assured her fans on Twitter that it was because of “some really exciting news that I’ll share with you guys at a later time.”
Pink Friday 2 will follow Minaj’s 2018 album, Queen, and her groundbreaking 2010 debut, Pink Friday. Additionally, in 2021, Minaj reissued her 2009 mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, and she has hinted at an upcoming tour scheduled to kick off in early 2024.
In recent times, Minaj hosted the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You,” a track that will be featured on Pink Friday 2. To close the show, Minaj joined forces with other legendary artists like Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, Doug E. Fresh, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five for a tribute performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
