Los Angeles, CA – In an exclusive report, Variety has confirmed that director Andy Muschietti will take the helm of an exciting new Batman film. This announcement comes as part of DC Studios’ plans for upcoming projects, orchestrated by leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Muschietti, known for his work on the highly anticipated superhero movie “The Flash,” has been tapped to direct “Batman: The Brave and the Bold.” The film draws inspiration from the comic series created by Grant Morrison, whose influence on the DC Universe has been lauded by Gunn. The story delves into the concept of a “Bat family,” where Bruce Wayne’s son Damian assumes the role of Robin alongside his father as Batman. Joining Muschietti on the production are his sister and creative partner Barbara, as well as Gunn and Safran, under their label Double Dream.

When asked about the choice to have Muschietti direct “The Brave and the Bold,” Gunn and Safran expressed their confidence in the director’s abilities and his deep connection to the DC world. They praised Muschietti’s previous work, stating, “We saw ‘The Flash’ even before our tenure at DC Studios began, and we knew we were in the hands of a visionary director and a dedicated DC fan. It’s an extraordinary film – a perfect blend of humor, emotion, and excitement. Andy’s passion for these characters and this universe shines through every frame. When the opportunity arose to find a director for ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ there was no doubt in our minds. Thankfully, Andy accepted the offer, and with Barbara joining us as a producer, we’re ready to embark on this thrilling new adventure in the DCU. They make an incredible team, and we couldn’t ask for better partners as we dive into this exciting project.”

Muschietti has already made a significant impact within the Warner Bros. Discovery family, having directed the successful “It” franchise under New Line Cinema. His breakthrough came in 2013 with the critically acclaimed horror film “Mama,” which also featured Jessica Chastain in a leading role. As he ventures into the world of Batman, fans eagerly await Muschietti’s unique vision and storytelling prowess.

As more updates surface regarding the development of “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” fans can anticipate an exciting chapter in the ever-expanding DC cinematic universe.
