  • The children’s book co-authored by Julie Andrews and Her Daughter Emma named “The Enchanted Symphony” is in the news.
  • Abrams Children’s book announced the launch date and said that it’s a hopeful fairy tale.

An unusual music performance in Spain inspired Julie Andrews and her daughter Emma to co-author a picture book.

The book named “The Enchanted Symphony” will be published by Sept. 12 as announced by Abrams Children’s Books. It was during the first year of the pandemic that Julie and Emma Walton Hamilton thought about the book. They had attended a ‘Concert of the Biocene’ in which a quartet played in front of thousands of plants.

According to Abrams, “The Enchanted Symphony” is a “hopeful fairy-tale” and it is set in a village “beset by a mysterious fog”, but revived by a “boy’s simple melody”.

“While the fog in our book evokes our pandemic experience, it also symbolizes something larger: the creeping and countless distractions that prevent us from appreciating what truly matters most in life,” Andrews and Walton Hamilton said in a statement.

“For us, it’s family, community, nature, and the arts that provide true beauty and meaning,” they said.

The mother-daughter duo has worked on several other books including “The Very Fairy Princess” series and “The First Notes: The Story of Do, Re, Mi” based on the famous song from “The Sound of Music”. They have also planned to make a sequel to “The Enchanted Symphony”.
