Daisy Ridley will be heading the cast in The Better Liar which is an psychological thriller series of Amazon Prime.
Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley was born on 10 April 1992 in the London borough of Westminster, and grew up in Maida Vale. She is the youngest of three daughters born to Christopher Ridley, a photographer and Louise, who works in internal communications for a bank. She has two older sisters, Kika Rose and Poppy Sophia, as well as two older half-sisters.
In 2016, Ridley became the executive producer of the documentary The Eagle Huntress which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2017, Ridley portrayed Mary Debenham in Murder on the Orient Express, an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s detective novel. In January 2018, Ridley starred in the titular role in Ophelia, a reimagining of the Hamlet tale, alongside Naomi Watts and Clive Owen. In December 2019, Ridley appeared as Rey in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the last film in the sequel trilogy. In 2021, Ridley co-starred in the film Chaos Walking.
Her upcoming indie drama – ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’ has already premiered at Sundance last month. Now Daisy will be debuting on the small screen in a leading role in Amazon psychological thriller series “The Better Liar” that is based on the novel written by Tanen Jones.
Lately, Ridley will be starring and executive producing, with True Blood’s written by Raelle Tucker. The story follows a woman who gets caught up in layers of deception after her sister’s death when she hires a lookalike in order to try and claim their shared inheritance.
Daisy Jones And The Six, and global thriller The Power will be streamed live on Amazon Prime by the end of March.
