George Clooney, in an interview with The Washington Post revealed some facts about his early stages as an actor. It reflected on his work in the shows “Sisters” and “Roseanne”.
During the interview, he recalled the moments with his co-stars on set. He talks about remembering a scene on Roseanne where he would drop a clipboard and bend over and they all slapped him on the ass. He further said that he was “objectified as a sex symbol” and he had to establish himself out of that.
After that, he directed and co-wrote a film “Good Night and Good Luck” starring himself as Fred Friendly the CBS producer and confidant to Edward R. Murrow. Talking about being objectified he said that he had to establish himself more than that and that happened with Good Night and Good Luck’s success.
The film was Oscar nominations for six categories as best picture, best director, and best original screenplay at Academy Awards in 2006. Clooney further directed six films and won Oscar for “Argos” for best picture and also won another Oscar for his role in “Syriana” as best supporting actor.
In 2022 He and Julia Roberts starred in the Romcom “Ticket to Paradise” and will continue his career in acting and take a break as a director. He said that he wants to spend more time with family and acting makes it easier while getting paid well. He said that he will be acting in movies and not directing unless it’s something absolutely necessary in the recent interview with Washington Post.
