- The actor William H. Macy is sued for chopping down healthy trees in the neighborhood which were guarded on the property of Mr. Brown.
- He has been held liable for trespassing, using property without owners knowledge and also sued for $600,000.
Florida-born actor William H. Macy has been accused of trespassing and killing several trees on the neighborhood property. According to the lawsuit, he intentionally and knowingly with the help of landscapers cut the trees in December 2021 and damaged the property in turn of Pierce Brown the neighbor.
As per the lawsuit filed by Pierce Brown, the actor has taken down the trees which are not on his property with the help of workers.
He further added saying that Macy’s workers have ruthlessly damaged many healthy decade-old pine trees and several other vegetation from the Brown’s property. He also said that the trees were located inside Brown’s property and yet they were taken down thus damaging the gate of the property that connected the two properties as well.
The neighbor also claims that Macy did all of that shamelessly despite him calling it an accident. “The law is pretty clear, if you step on someone else’s property and cut down their trees, there’s going to be a liability,” explained Zachary Schorr, a Los Angeles-based real estate attorney who regularly deals with neighbor disputes.
Macy’s neighbor who was on vacation when all this happened the hillside was also damaged and the actor didn’t come to discuss the same till the next month. Now Brown who is Macy’s neighbor is seeking $600,000 as compensation for the damage caused to the property, privacy, noise, using the property without the owner’s knowledge, etc.
