Just as guests are getting ready to travel in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the nation opens it doors for the Orchard at Doha’s Hamad Airport, a massive new indoor, naturally lit forest that would serve as a new, principal concourse of the airport. You’ll surely notice the scene the next time you go through Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH), a significant international hub, particularly for travellers flying on its flagship carrier, One world alliance member Qatar Airways.

The magnificent Expansion includes more than 90 brands in one enormous shopping area, a world-class art collection, a refreshing setting with lush greenery, and a 10,000 square metre indoor tropical garden called The Orchard with a 268 square metre water feature – designed to be a focal point for all tourists.

The area’s distinctive layout makes it possible for trees and plants to flourish during the duration of the airport by quickly adapting to the inside circumstances. The Orchard has an abundance of natural light, a strategy meant to foster relaxation and well-being.

The Orchard at Doha’s Hamad Airport includes more than 25,000 plants and shrubs, 300 trees, and sustainable forests from Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. The commercial offering consists of 65 stores and 35 food and beverage venues, some of which feature never-before-seen mixtures of both.

More than 20 cafés and restaurants are available for food and drink, and they provide a diverse selection of regional and international cuisines. Many firsts and exclusives are included in the retail and F&B line-up, such as the first airport-based Fendi Café and a duplex Fendi shop, as well as the first Ralph’s Coffee Shop. The first airport Oreo Café in the world is located in the nearby North node.

The expanded retail selection is dotted with upscale stores, including the first Dior boutique at HIA, the only FIFA store in the world, and a long list of notable brands including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, Tiffany & Co., Omega, Bulgari, and many more well-known names in the fashion industry.

“We are extremely thrilled to be opening the Expansion of Hamad International Airport, an airport that has genuinely developed to become the ultimate model of a successful, sustainable worldwide infrastructure,” said His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group.
