German technology-based Bosch has introduced dashcams for drivers and passengers’ safety. The incidents of drivers being attacked have been increasing quite a lot and hence Bosch has made a new RideCare dashcam for drivers’ safety during any accident or incident.
They have also said that they are working on smart camera technology to introduce wireless cameras and are working on the Gridwise app for ridesharing and delivery drivers.
Bosch developed and introduced a camera on Tuesday in Las Vegas which has both interior and exterior use. A windshield-mounted camera is always a good option for both drivers and passengers as you never know whom you will encounter during your ride. These cameras automatically store the footage captured and can help drivers to prove to law that it wasn’t their fault when the accident or incident occurred.
The RideCare dashcam has motion and noise detection which is triggered automatically and footage are stored along with a timestamp when an incident occurs. It is very easier to trace the reason for the collision and to know where the drivers went wrong. Also, additionally, the front-facing camera covers the night footage which is very important in dark night travel. All these features will help during accidents and disputes between drivers and passengers. This also protects the driver’s reputation and payment or compensation.
The Bosch RideCare camera has the added advantage of 24/7 service from the service centers. The dashcam has also introduced an SOS button which can be activated by the driver during an emergency. It being wireless makes it even better considering connectivity issues. The customer care centers can then contact the vehicle or driver and assist them as per their emergency.
Bosch operates its own call centers in almost 50 countries and over 27 million vehicles have emergency services. So, it is not a new introduction to RideCare and can be beneficial for drivers who may not find it necessary to dial 911, or if they are not in a state of even dialing they can just press the button to alert the service centers.
