A Member Of BTS J-Hope to Join the South Korean Military

J-Hope a member of the biggest boy band in the world has decided to join the South Korean military and put his musical career on hold.

J-Hope a rapper and singer for BTS has begun the application process for the army, he will join as the group's second member.

J-hope has begun the military recruitment procedure by requesting the termination of his enlistment delay.

Most South Korean men enter the army at age 28 and serve for 18 months but after 2020 pops stars can defer their service until age 30.

According to Big Hit, everyone of the seven BTS members will complete their required military service.

Big Hit Music requested fans continued love and support for J-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns.

The announcement for J-Hope 29, comes shortly after singer Jin, the oldest member of BTS at 30 years old started his military service in December.

J-Hope upcoming solo single "on the street," will be released on March 3rd the label announced in a statement.

Fans have long concerned that the band's success might be affected by active service.

BTS have gained more than 48 million Twitter followers, had No. 1 songs in more than 100 countries and received their first Grammy nomination in 2020.

BTS also grown to be a significant contributor to the South Korean economy, with BTS accounting for $4.9 billion in income in 2019 and 0.3% of the GDP of the nation.

According to Big Hit Music, BTS is anticipated to reunite as a group around 2025 after announcing in 2022 that it will take a sabbatical for members to work on solo projects.
