Killing Romance: A Delightfully Twisted Comedy Making Waves

"Killing Romance," a unique comedy film by Lee Won-suk, made quite an impression at its UK premiere.

The movie features Lee Hanee as a viral internet star stuck in a controlling marriage, played by Lee Sun-kyun.

The storyline takes a wild turn as the protagonist teams up with her neighbor, played by Gong Myung, to devise bizarre murder plots.

While it may sound like a neo-noir on paper, Director Lee's vision transforms it into a twisted live-action Disney cartoon.

The film is filled with song-and-dance routines and even features a telepathic ostrich seeking spaghetti western-style revenge.

The production faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the team shooting at various locations and improvising scenes.

The resulting film has a dreamlike quality and doesn't adhere to traditional narrative structures.

Interestingly, "Killing Romance" was originally conceived as a straight drama but evolved into a fairy tale.
