Luke Evans and Gwei Lun-mei To Star in 'Weekend in Taipei'.

Luke Evans and Gwei Lun-mei renowned actors are set to co-star in an upcoming action thriller called "Weekend Escape Project."

The film is being produced by EuropaCorp the production company founded by Luc Besson, marking their return after a four-year hiatus.

Luc Besson and Virginie Besson-Silla are producing the movie for EuropaCorp while international sales are being handled by Kinology.

Directed by George Huang the film also known as "Weekend in Taipei," will commence shooting on July 3 in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan.

The production is expected to take three months and will feature various locations in Taipei.

Prior to the shoot Besson-Silla scouted locations with director Olivier Megaton and met with Taipei mayor Wayne Chiang to discuss the project.

Luke Evans has already arrived in Taipei and shared his excitement on Instagram, posting a photo of the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper.

Taiwanese media reports suggest that Evans' character will portray a U.S. Drug Enforcement officer.

EuropaCorp, after undergoing financial restructuring, is making a comeback this year, with "DogMan," a drama directed by Luc Besson.
