Yeoh is just the second woman of color to ever win an Academy Award, which have been presented since 1929.

The first was Halle Berry, who won for her performance in "Monster's Ball" in 2001. Yeoh expressed her gratitude to the film's production team.

Yeoh stated, "I have to dedicate this to my mother, to all the mothers in the world, because they are really the superheroes.

Yeoh stated that she will be bringing the well-known figurine to her 84-year-old mother in Malaysia.
