Los Angeles County Coroner's Office informed Coolio’s family that the singer had died from a fentanyl overdose.

The reports came six months after the musician was found dead at his friend’s home in Los Angeles at age 59.

The report lists the effects of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine as the cause of the death.

In 2009, Coolio pled guilty to cocaine possession and agreed to enter an 18-month rehabilitation program.

Coolio spoke about battling cocaine addiction, which he had left once but agin started.

Rapper Coolio was best known for his 1995 single “Gangsta’s Paradise” which later featured in the film.
