California’s OAKLAND — According to the Oakland Police Department, eight people were wounded and one person has died in shooting in Oakland on Monday night. Just after 6:00 o’clock, a shooting took place at 5910 MacArthur Boulevard.
Officers from the OPD discovered that there had been a gunfight when they arrived on the scene.
Police responded to complaints of a suspected gunfire approximately before 6:10 p.m. after becoming aware of a Shot Spotter action close to the 5900 block of MacArthur Boulevard as in city’s Seminary district.
When police got on the location, they discovered casings but no people. Police reacted to the incident in the Valero gas station parking lot, diverted traffic, and recovered video from security cameras as well as expended shells. Monday, the station’s parking lot and fuel pumps had been cordoned off by forensic specialists, and the sidewalk was covered in numbers of yellow crime scene markers.
OPD later discovered that numerous gunshot wounded had driven themselves to nearby hospitals.
OPD was alert of eight casualties as of Monday night. The other seven are in stable condition, while one is deceased.

The murder is the sixth killing that Oakland police have looked for this year.

Eyewitnesses told this news outlet that it appeared that numerous people had already been filming a music video just before firing started, one of whom introduced himself as the owner of the gas station but would not give his name. Police asked anyone having “information relevant to the event” to contact detectives but did not directly address what led up to the shooting.
The teen deceased in he firing, according to a relative, completed high school last year.
