California’s Ojai is electing a new mayor, Anson Williams. The “Happy Days” star believes it is more important than ever to use his public profile to give back to his community after relocating to Ojai in 2011. He suggests creating a designated “base camp” outside the downtown area where guests and tour buses may park and pay in order to lessen traffic. Additionally, he suggests expanding the number of public parking lots, collaborating with the Casitas Water District to put new conservation measures into action, establishing ties to the educational system, and creating new revenue streams.
This isn’t at all about politics for me, he said, according to Fox News Digital. “I’m not running for mayor to become involved in politics. Politics are not my thing. I consider myself as a collaborative leader. Please, for my neighborhood. This is for my friends and everyone else that helps make Ojai special and important as a national landmark.”
“I think I can nudge us back in the correct direction for the next mayors and council members. But first, let’s get going. I also have faith in my capacity to take the initiative. This is why I’m running, and I want to win.”
