Bernard Kerik, the ex-commissioner of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), who received a pardon from Donald Trump, has reportedly reached an agreement with special counsel Jack Smith to provide records concerning the 2020 election.

Later in the same year, Kerik was involved in assisting Trump’s attempts to contest his defeat in the 2020 presidential election against Joe Biden. He sought evidence to support false claims of widespread election fraud. According to a report by the Daily Beast, Kerik is now set to hand over approximately 2,000 pages of documents detailing his investigative endeavors to Smith, as part of the federal criminal investigation into Trump’s election challenges. Kerik’s investigations reportedly revolved around conspiracy theories related to ballot stuffing and fake voters.

The documents provided by Kerik are expected to be crucial to Smith’s ongoing investigation, shedding light on the former president’s thought process and decision-making while seeking evidence to substantiate his unfounded election fraud claims. This evidence will help determine whether Trump genuinely believed in the falsehoods he propagated after the election.

Smith and the DOJ’s investigation appears to be nearing its conclusion, as Trump recently confirmed receiving a “target letter,” indicating he is one of the subjects of criminal charges in the case.
