Middletown Democratic Party Files Police Complaint Over Campaign Sign Vandalism

In a recent development, the Middletown Democratic Party took action by filing a police complaint against a Middletown resident on Friday. The resident allegedly confessed to vandalizing a campaign sign, located at the intersection of Portland Rd. and Kings Highway.

While the Democratic Party did not disclose the individual’s name, they reported that the admission was made through an email sent to the Middletown Democratic candidate’s website. The defaced sign belonged to Rocky Rios and Paige Gregorio, two Democratic candidates vying for seats on the Middletown Township Committee this autumn.

In a statement, the local Democratic Party expressed their unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability for those involved in such actions. The statement emphasized that tampering with or removing campaign signs from designated areas is unlawful, and such acts undermine the principles of free expression and democratic participation, which are integral to society.

The Middletown Democrats expressed their gratitude for the support of the Middletown Police in addressing this issue, reaffirming their dedication to the democratic process and its integrity.
