Raleigh, NC – Brad Marchand finally scored his 400th career goal on Thursday night, ending a 10-game drought and helping the Boston Bruins to a convincing 4-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.

While relieved to reach the milestone, the Bruins captain downplayed its significance, focusing instead on the team’s dominant performance. “It’s good to get it over with,” Marchand admitted, “but the important thing was the strong team effort.”

Coach Jim Montgomery praised Marchand’s achievement. “Reaching 400 goals is a remarkable feat,” he said. “It speaks volumes about Brad’s dedication and skill. He’s overcome doubts throughout his career and continues to prove himself as an elite player and a true Bruin.”

At 35, Marchand remains focused on the future. “I’m not dwelling on past accomplishments,” he declared. “I have bigger goals in mind, and hopefully many more milestones to achieve. There’ll be time for reflection later.”

Teammate Jeremy Swayman expressed his admiration for Marchand. “I’m thrilled for him,” Swayman said. “He puts in the work, and it’s inspiring to witness his leadership on and off the ice. He leads by example, and that’s all the motivation we need. I’m incredibly happy for him and grateful to have him on our team.”
