Former South Carolina Gamecock’s Chris Silva signed 10 days contract with Dallas Maverick
The Mavericks have brought in Silva by signing him to a 10 days contract as announced by the team on Twitter on 31st January, Tuesday. Chris Silva started his career in 2017 with South Carolina Gamecocks. He has been in Miami Heat at the start of his professional career and later on he was in several teams including Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, and again in Miami.
The move of signing Chris Silva is to support their big-man depth as the other players like Christian Wood who’s is having fractured thumb and Maxi Kleber recovering from hamstring surgery have not been able to rotate the crack.
Chris began his career with Gamecocks and reached the final four in 2017 later in 2019 he began his professional career with Miami Heat for the 2019-2020 season. Over the next three seasons, he appeared for 69 games for Miami, Sacramento Kings, and Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 61% shooting at 2.8 points per game on the floor. He also grabbed 27 rebounds and was playing with the College Park Skyhawks of the G League.
Silva earned selection to the First Team All-Sec team in 2018 and played for the University of South Carolina scoring 15.2 points per game in 2018-19. At G League College Park, A.J Lawson and Silva were teammates in 2018-19.
In need of Big Men who can function in the NBA till Wood returns, Mavericks won’t most likely keep Silva on the floor but, there are chances that he carves way out of the role with Maverick as it has been many times earlier seen players do so.
