Denver Broncos linebacker Drew Sanders Suffers Torn Achilles, Likely to Miss Most of 2024 Season

The Denver Broncos’ second-year linebacker Drew Sanders will be sidelined for a significant portion of the 2024 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon during the offseason program in April.

According to reports, Sanders underwent surgery to repair the injury and is expected to have a recovery time of 6-9 months. This opens the possibility of a return later in the season if his rehab progresses well.

The Broncos drafted Sanders in the third round of the 2023 draft with the intention of him potentially playing inside or outside linebacker. With Sanders’ injury, the Broncos used another third-round pick in this year’s draft to select Utah linebacker Jonah Elliss.

Sanders played in all 17 games last season, starting four, and recording 24 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery.
