Despite a slow start on a windy afternoon at Philippe Chatrier court, Swiatek wins her first match at French Open with the score of 6-4, 6-0. In her quest for a third French Open title in four years, Iga Swiatek, the world number one in tennis, began her title defense with a comfortable victory over Cristina Bucsa of Spain.
Swiatek experienced some early difficulties, losing two of her first three service games. Bucsa’s varied tactics initially caught Swiatek off guard, but the 21-year-old, a three-time Grand Slam champion, quickly adjusted and dominated the match.
