- A Teen Vaclav “Vance” Bursa and Joanna Stephens won the 7 Miles Florida Bridge race which attracts almost 1500 runners from various countries.
- The race takes place on one of the longest highways out of 42 highway bridges over water.
Among 1500 runners, a local teenager and an Atlanta woman won 7 miles bridge run in Florida. It was an overall men’s and women’s division’s foot run race along the longest highway bridge over water in the Florida Keys.
Joanna Stephens from Atlanta completed the race to win the women’s division and secured the second position. She completed it in 41:12 as compared to last year’s winners finishing at 41:33 and 41:45 by Collin Wainwright, 27, and Joel Martinez, 31 respectively earning second and third positions.
A Floridian teenager Vaclav “Vance” Bursa, 15, came first in the 7 Mile Bridge race with a record time of 41 minutes, 1 second overall men’s division winner. In 2022 he had earned the third position being a student at Marathon High School.
Holly Smith, 38 secured the second position with a time of 42:10 from a women’s division who is again from Florida. While, Shelby Nowak, 28, earned third place with a 46:51 record time and is a resident of Key West Florida.
Almost 1500 runners cape every year to the race and competitors come from the U.S. and other states including Canada, UK, and Switzerland. During the run vehicular traffic was closed for almost three hours on Saturday.
