In an unusual turn of events, a 4-year-old child narrowly escaped injury when a golf cart at a summer party in Westland, Michigan, surged forward after a dog accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal. The incident occurred during the Blues, Brews, and BBQ event, which had the local fire department’s involvement.
According to fire department officials, an arson dog from the Westland Fire Department was seated in the golf cart designated for the event. The dog unexpectedly leaped onto the cart’s floor and inadvertently pressed against the accelerator, causing the cart to move forward unexpectedly. Swiftly responding firefighters managed to steer the cart away from nearby individuals and tents utilized by fire officials.
