Britney Spears recently took to her official social media account to share her excitement about the release of her long-awaited memoir, titled “The Woman in Me.” This memoir made its way to bookstores on October 24.

In her post, the pop star expressed her gratitude to her fans and boldly stated that her memoir has achieved record-breaking success in the world of celebrity memoirs. If her claim holds true, it means her book has surpassed the record previously held by Prince Harry’s highly anticipated memoir, “Spare,” which made history in January as the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever, earning a Guinness World Record.

The singer’s statement follows speculation by celebrity podcaster Heather McDonald, who suggested that the pre-sale figures for the book might have exceeded 9 million copies.

When Prince Harry’s “Spare” was released on January 10, it received accolades from its publisher, Penguin Random House, which reported first-day sales surpassing 1.4 million copies.

The Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized this achievement as the world record for the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time, surpassing the previous record held by former President Barack Obama.

Prince Harry’s memoir garnered extensive global media attention and elicited a range of responses, with both praise and criticism, for its candid portrayal of royal life. His 2020 book, “A Promised Land,” sold 887,000 copies on its release day.

Britney Spears’ book has made headlines worldwide, as it provides an in-depth account of her life story, revealing details she’s never shared before. Some of the most talked-about revelations include insights into her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and the significant role her father, Jamie Spears, played in shaping her career.

If Britney Spears’ “The Woman in Me” not only surpasses Prince Harry’s remarkable 1.4 million first-day sales but also claimed the title of “highest-selling celebrity memoir in history,” it would indeed be a remarkable achievement.

For context, former First Lady Michelle Obama’s 2018 memoir, “Becoming,” sold 1.4 million copies in its opening week and eventually soared to over 14 million copies sold in its first year.

Currently, “The Woman in Me” is dominating the Amazon and Barnes & Noble book charts. However, these booksellers have yet to release official data confirming its first-day sales figures.
