Holiday Couple win the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award 2023

In a remarkable achievement, Jrue Holiday, the talented guard representing the Milwaukee Bucks, alongside his wife Lauren, have been bestowed with the prestigious Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award at this year’s ESPYs ceremony.

This esteemed accolade was granted to them as a token of recognition for their exceptional commitment to championing Black-owned small businesses. In addition to their commendable endeavors, the couple has also established the JLH Foundation, aiming to provide assistance and upliftment to Black-owned enterprises.

Gracing the stage at the ESPYs, both Jrue and Lauren Holiday were present to accept the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award. During their poignant acceptance speech, Lauren delivered a powerful message, highlighting the significance of lending a helping hand to those in need. She emphasized that an athlete’s fame and achievements hold little value if they fail to create a positive impact on the world.

During COVID-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020, Jrue Holiday donated his entire salary from the Bubble, which amounted to an astonishing $5.3 million. Motivated by this decision, the Holidays established the Jrue and Lauren Holiday Social Impact Fund, with a primary focus on extending support to Black-owned businesses and nonprofit organizations disproportionately affected by the ongoing pandemic.

Collaborating with esteemed organizations such as The Kinship Advisors, Fund Black Founders, and Crowdfund Better, they formed a network and community dedicated to empowering and uplifting the recipients of their support.

Holiday couple’s establishment of the JLH Foundation and the subsequent creation of the Jrue and Lauren Holiday Social Impact Fund have uplifted numerous organizations and provided invaluable resources.
