Lainey Wilson, the breakout sensation of country music, has once again seized the spotlight by leading the nominations for the 2023 CMA Awards, marking her second consecutive year at the top.
In 2022, Wilson made her debut as a nominee, and now, in 2023, she cements her place in history as the first and only artist to secure the highest number of nominations in her first two appearances on the ballot.
Last year, she secured six nominations; this year, she has soared to an impressive nine. Wilson’s nominations span across diverse categories, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year. Notably, she clinched double nominations in the Single of the Year category, with her tracks “Heart Like a Truck” and her collaboration on HARDY’s “wait in the truck.” Additionally, Wilson has earned dual nods in the Musical Event of the Year category for “wait in the truck” and her feature on Jelly Roll’s “Save Me.”

Lainey Wilson’s remarkable feat is followed by Jelly Roll, a first-time nominee, who secures five nominations. Luke Combs and HARDY also find themselves in prestigious company with four nominations each.
The possibility of Combs and HARDY winning six awards looms large if they emerge victorious in all their respective categories.
Luke Combs not only graces the entertainer and male vocalist of the year nominations but also features as a performer and producer on his rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” which is vying for Single of the Year honors. Furthermore, his latest album, “Gettin’ Old,” has earned a nomination in the Album of the Year category.
Similarly, HARDY finds himself nominated twice for “Wait in the Truck,” as both a single and a musical event of the year. He’s not just the performer but also the producer of this hit.
In the other major categories, the race for Entertainer of the Year includes Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Morgan Wallen. Song of the Year contenders feature Megan Moroney’s “Tennessee Orange” and Jordan Davis’ “Next Thing You Know.”
Make sure to mark your calendars for the 2023 CMA Awards, scheduled to air on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC. It promises to be an evening filled with outstanding talent and exciting accolades in the world of country music.
