Pop star Taylor Swift dropped her highly anticipated eleventh studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” on Friday. The 16-song record is the first taste of new music from Swift since her 2022 Grammy-winning album, “Midnights.”

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Two hours after the initial release, Swift surprised fans with a “double album” expansion titled “The Anthology,” featuring an additional 15 songs.

“The Tortured Poets Department” explores a period of deep reflection for Swift, drawing inspiration from “events, opinions and sentiments” from the past two years. She describes it as a time that was both “sensational and sorrowful.”

However, Swift assures fans that this chapter is closed. “There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed,” she wrote on social media.

The album’s lead single, “Fortnight,” features rapper Post Malone. Swift has expressed her admiration for Post Malone, calling him a “huge fan” and praising his songwriting and melodies. The music video for “Fortnight” was released on Tuesday.

“The Tortured Poets Department” became the most pre-saved album in Spotify history, highlighting the massive anticipation for Swift’s new music.
