The upcoming limited series “The Gray House,” produced by Kevin Costner, will kick off the 63rd annual Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco this June. The Monte-Carlo Television Festival will be held from June 14th to 16th.
This six-episode historical drama tells the story of four overlooked Southern women who played a pivotal role in the Civil War. The unlikely quartet, consisting of a Virginia socialite, her formerly enslaved mother, and a high-class prostitute, banded together to become crucial spies for the Union. Credited as unsung heroes, their covert operations are said to have significantly impacted the war’s outcome. Actresses Mary-Louise Parker, Amethyst Davis, Daisy Head, and Ben Vereen star in the lead roles.
“The Gray House” is a collaboration between Costner’s Territory Pictures, Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary’s Revelations Entertainment, and Big Dreams Entertainment. Paramount Global Content Distribution will handle international distribution, but the domestic platform for the series is yet to be announced.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Costner shared, “History has always been a source of inspiration for me. ‘The Gray House’ not only sheds light on a significant chapter in American history but also resonates with a global audience through its powerful message of sacrifice for freedom. It’s a thrilling spy adventure that promises to educate, entertain, and inspire viewers. While I would’ve loved to direct it myself, I’m honored to be a part of this project. Director Roland Joffé’s exceptional talent brings to life the captivating story of these four courageous women amidst the backdrop of war, love, historical significance, and tragedy.”

Costner joins forces with Freeman, McCreary, Rod Lake, Howard Kaplan, and Leslie Greif as executive producers for the series.
“At Revelations Entertainment, we actively seek stories that enlighten and unveil truths,” stated Freeman and McCreary. “‘The Gray House’ embodies that very spirit. It recounts the tale of extraordinary female spies who fought to preserve the unity of America during the Civil War. This true story of espionage nearly faded into obscurity, yet it demonstrably influenced the Union’s triumph over the Confederacy.”
