Ryan Kiera Armstrong is removed from worst actor nominee list after criticism from former and present child artists. Ryan Kiera was taken off from referendum of the Razzie Awards after complaints that the 12-year-old actress should not have been included in the organization’s official list of the most disappointing movies and performers of the year.

The event’s organizing committee have officially apologised to 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong after receiving criticism for choosing her for the worst Actress for her role throughout the box office dud “Firestarter.”

The Golden Raspberry Awards, honour the worst performing screenplay industry over the previous year.

The youngster may not again be included in the nominees with Bryce Dallas Howard (‘Jurassic Park: Dominion’), Diane Keaton (‘Mack + Rita’), Kaya Scodelario (‘The King’s Daughter’), and Alicia Silverstone (‘The Requin’), according to Razzies co-founder John Wilson.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, John Wilson, the head of the organisation that oversees the Golden Raspberry Awards, popularly known as the Razzies, also expressed regret.

Guidelines renewed by Razzie Award

Armstrong, who seemed to be 11 during the time Firestarter was produced, was competing against Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic Park: Dominion, Alicia Silverstone, Diane Keaton, Kaya Scodelario, and Mack & Rita for the title of worst performer in The Requin.

Strict vote totals are being implemented, according to Wilson, and they will exclude any artist or director who is a young from becoming nominated for a Razzie Award.

The group received criticism for including Armstrong; among the individuals who objected were several past and present child actors. The Haunting of Hill House and Wanda Vision young actor Julian Hilliard tweeted that nominating a kid is just nasty & inappropriate. The Razzies are indeed mean-spirited & low class and  Why expose a child to the possibility of worsening bullying? Being better.

Wilson expressed his opinion that the “anger is intriguing — possibly slightly merited, but I think exaggerated.” The intention was to be humorous, he continued. We appear to have erred greatly in this particular situation. I’m willing to say that.

Strong Statement and apologies by Wilson.

“Often, you act without thinking, according to Wilson. “You are then criticised for it. You then succeed. It is the primary reason the Razzie Awards were established’’.

The current, well-founded critique of the selection of 12-year-old Armstrong as a candidate for a particular award made us aware of how callous we had been in this case. Armstrong’s name has been eliminated from the Official Voting that our participants will make upcoming month as an outcome. Additionally, we think Ms. Armstrong deserves a formal apology and want to express our apologies for any harm our decisions may have caused her.

Wilson stated, “We don’t ever seek to ruin anyone’s career. “We developed the Redeemer Award for this reason. We are all human and fall short occasionally. Since our company’s tagline is “Own Your Bad,” we understand that we must uphold it personally.

Unfortunately, it’s not the only time the Razzies have reneged on a award.

Kids have already been shortlisted for the Razzies, namely Macaulay Culkin in 1995 for three films: Getting Even With Dad, The Page master, and Richie Rich, as well as Jake Lloyd for 1999’s Star Wars. After learning that Bruce Willis had aphasia, the event’s planners last year opted to scrap the special award.

The 43rd Razzie Awards’ “results” will be revealed on March 11, the day prior to the Oscars. There are around 1,100 individuals who can vote.
