Adam Ottavino and New York Mets Agree on a $14.5M Deal

Sources reveal that baseball pitcher and free agent Adam Ottavino and New York Mets agreed on 2 years deal of $14.5M and he is returning back to the Mets.

Adam who is 37 has been granted $14.5 million taking the Met’s off-season spending to $476.1 million. He has been a consistent relief pitcher for the Mets and has delivered the eighth-inning bridge to Edwin Diaz who has been signed by the Mets for $102 million.

The deal has created competitive balance tax payroll estimated to be $358 million adding to the tax bill of $88 million $100 in the history of baseball. They have also successfully retained Brandon Nimmo and signed Justin Verlander, Kodai Senga, Jose Quintana, David Robertson, etc. Adam has proven to be effective for over a decade now and has become a specialist right-hander. He has pitched various innings with 727 strikeouts and 274 walks with a below-average home run rate.

He has also played previously for teams like St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, and New York Yankees in MLB.
