18 year old teenager skater Jordan Stolz won the Youngest World Champion Title. He is officially declared as youngest speed skating world champion.

Jordan Stolz an 18-year-old American speed skater has become the youngest speed skating champion and has won gold in the men’s 500 meters event. Stolz crossed the line merely in 34.10 seconds against Laurent Dubreuil of Canada.

Jordan took a lead by 0.36 seconds over Laurent who finished 0.02 seconds ahead of Japan’s Wataru Morishige. Wataru Morishige is an Olympic bronze medallist. Jordan won the gold at the World Single Distance Championships on Friday at Heerenveen, Netherlands.

On the other hand, Laurent who won gold in the men’s team sprint on Thursday described Stolz’s performance as “otherworldly”.

“He’s unbelievable. It’s like trying to beat Michael Jordan or something,” Dubreuil said. “I feel privileged to go against a skater this good. He’s doing things that we would have deemed impossible.”

Stolz’s achievements as a junior world champion:

Stolz who has now become the youngest man to win said that it was a perfect race. He won an individual World Cup race last November and last month fought a junior world championship in Inzell, Germany.

Stolz is among the three-speed skaters who won both junior and senior single-distance world titles in the same season. He earned bronze medals in 5000 meters individual events and swept titles in 500m, 1000m, and 1500m. He joined fellow natives Eric Heiden and Beth Heiden.
